Sustainable vineyards in La Rioja 🍷
2025 Release · Torrontés Riojano
We are Sañogasta — a village of clay, where the sun rests upon the earth and awakens it in silence. Here, our roots beat deeply like the voices of our elders, wise like the water learning to become wine.
This is how De Barro is born — a Torrontés Riojano made through biodynamic practices: fresh, bright, with floral and citrus aromas that express the essence of our landscape.

"Sustainable vineyards, deep roots in La Rioja 🍇"
Would you like to visit us and get to know Finca Concepción in Sañogasta, La Rioja?
Our project was born in 2017 under the name “Concepción – Sustainable Vineyards” in a small town in La Rioja called Sañogasta, with crystal spring waters, fertile soils and blue skies at the foot of Mount Famatina. From the beginning, our purpose has been to work with agriculture that respects the environment and the culture of its people; that is how we started with a strong commitment to sustainability. It is a family wine project focused on wine tourism, run by Luis and Mery, its owners, who have a deep connection with this land where we were born and raised.
In a place without a winegrowing tradition, we dared to dream and, as a gesture of gratitude for life and especially for the water we receive, we oriented the rows of our vineyard towards Mount Famatina. Once established, simply observing taught us to respect the crop cycles, and over the years we witnessed how the plants grew and developed. Today we know every portion of soil where they grow and are grateful for their fruit, which, in harmony with our way of working, helps us create genuine, unique and unrepeatable wines.
We work only with manual tasks, accompanying the evolution of the crop throughout each yearly cycle. At harvest time, the main goal is to obtain the best possible quality of grapes, which comes from what we receive from nature and what we contribute as humans. During the winemaking process, together with our winemaker, we work with the concept of minimal intervention, seeking what we consider to be “honest wines”.
We open our doors to share unique experiences among vineyards. We seek to constantly innovate without losing the essence, which is closeness in each visit. We invite you to experience a unique connection with nature and its surroundings through walks in the vineyard, picnics, tastings of our wines and regional food.
Our Cabernet Franc was awarded a silver medal at the XXXVI CATA 2024, held in the province of San Juan, Argentina. This recognition highlights the quality and prestige that this wine has achieved at national level.
Our wines are a tribute to the tireless and loyal rural worker; they reflect identity, regional character and a deep bond with this place. This is expressed in our beautiful label created by Germán Abilar and Victoria Itoiz, where, in addition to the silhouette of the “chango”, the powerful sun of La Rioja, our mountains and the native vegetation (jarillas) stand out.
Discover our “Chango Guapo” wines, in their Malbec and Cabernet Franc varieties, made with grapes grown under biodynamic practices. Here we see the estate as a living organism, where soil, plants, animals and people are interconnected and functioning as a balanced system.
De Barro shows a bright yellow color with greenish hues. Intense floral and fruity aromas. On the palate it is fresh, with good acidity and a long finish.
Subtle and delicate, with a bright violet-red color. On the nose, red fruits prevail, and on the palate it keeps its liveliness, medium body and good acidity.
Deep red color with violet hints. Fruity and herbal aromas, rounded tannins and a persistent finish, ideal to pair with meats and cheeses.
For us, the most important thing is the closeness with each person who visits us. Here we share the story of our project, the town of Sañogasta, biodynamic agriculture and how we manage the land and the grapes to produce our Chango Guapo and De Barro wines.

We are a family with deep roots in Sañogasta and Chilecito (La Rioja), who dreamed of a place where our passion for viticulture and meaningful encounters could take shape.
We are convinced that our greatest reward will always be the shared moments that come from meeting those who choose to visit us. Every visit to the finca is an opportunity to open the doors of our home, walk through the vineyard, and raise a glass to this land where we were born.
